Wordpress

Friday, July 1st, 2005

The site seems to be all back to normal now.

I have switched over from Movable Type to Wordpress. I’ll probably switch up the template, but other than that the entire site should be here and accessible.

If anyone notices any problems, just shoot me an email.

Elton and the Band Recorded With B. B. King
30-March-2004

Elton is among several major international artists who have recently recorded with blues legend B.B. King. This is for a duets album, celebrating B.B.’s 80th birthday later this year.

Elton and the band and B.B. King recorded the Memphis Slim blues classic, Rock This House, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Our picture, kindly supplied by Elton’s percussionist John Mahon, shows the group after the recording.

Requests for tabs

Thursday, March 10th, 2005

We’ve had a few requests for chords that we don’t have here on the site and i’m putting the call out to anyone that may be able to help.

I haven’t even heard these songs.

The first is from the movie “Finding Neverland” and is called “Peter’s Song”.

The othere three are apparently outtakes from the Peachtree Road sessions and they are “Keep it a Mystery”, “A Little Peace”, and “So Sad the Renegade”.

If anyone can help, that would be great.

Since I live right outside Philly, i’m very excited about this announcement. For those of you who don’t you may not have heard about this, so here is the news from eltonjohn.com

9-February-2005

“With great pleasure, I am able to inform you of a major event that will be happening in PHILADELPHIA on JULY 4th, 2005 for the benefit of the Elton John AIDS Foundation - PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM CONCERT & BALL. This event will be the world’s largest ever HIV/AIDS awareness and education event.

Elton will perform along with Philadelphia native Peter Nero and the Philadelphia Orchestra. There will be a private Gala dinner in the Art Museum following the concert and the traditional Independence Day fireworks. We have reserved 50 tickets for the actual Ball and preferred side-stage seating for the concert exclusively for Rocket Members. Prices for these exclusive seats and entrance tickets for the Ball will be advised at a later date and will be obtainable ONLY through eltonjohn.com.

There will also be a meeting place set up at one or two of the local Philadelphia restaurants for Rocket Members and other Elton fans to meet up prior to the concert and afterwards, as well as a meeting place for during the concert.

The entire month of June will see local activities leading up to the July 4th PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM CONCERT & BALL. These activities include LUNCH AROUND THE WORLD ’Äì PHILLY STYLE, Mini-Cooper automobile rally fundraisers, evening boat cruises along the Delaware River, and other events to raise HIV/AIDS awareness as well as money for EJAF.

There will be more information over the next few days concerning the PHILADELPHIA FREEDOM CONCERT & BALL and LUNCH AROUND THE WORLD ’Äì PHILLY STYLE, along with other exclusives for Rocket Members. Obviously with an event this large, there will be changes, so please tell my fellow Rocket Members to keep coming to the site for updates and more general information on this massive and thrilling event.”

Album Complete and Some Problems Fixed

Tuesday, November 23rd, 2004

As far as I can tell, and with much thanks to Brad, the entire album has been chorded and posted. The spacing and tab problems have been fixed by going back and re-uploading everything as a Rich Text document to keep the formatting. if anyone has any problems with the files let me know.

With all the chords up, all there is left to do is make a few minor tweaks to the chords, and if anyone feels something is in error, or should be changed, make a note in the comments.

Thanks Everyone.
